Section length

The length of a section, consisting of straight pipe sections and pipe fittings(individual resistances), is to be determined in accordance with the measurement rules of DIN 18381. Pipe fittings are then measured along the centre line. Branches, pipe bends and angles are measured up to the intersection of the centre lines.

The pressure loss in straight pipework (l∙R) and in individual resistances (Z) can only be determined in accordance with the standard if the pipe network is divided up accordingly.
