Minimum supply pressure
The minimum supply pressure is the minimum static pressure at the "starting or transfer point" for an independent pipe structure, e.g. a floor installation.

- Minimum supply pressure as specified by the water supply company (WVU):
The minimum supply pressure and the point to which the specification refers must be requested by the planner of the drinking water installation from the responsible water supply company (WVU).
The usual locations for the specification of the minimum supply pressure by the water supply company are- Connection device on the supply pipe (A)
- Main shut-off device (B)
- Behind the water meter system (C)

- Minimum static pressure at the connection device (A):
The minimum supply pressure at the connection device (valve tapping clamp) is the lowest internal static pressure at the transfer point during a period of high water consumption.

- Minimum supply pressure after the main shut-off device (HAE) (B):
The minimum supply pressure at the HAE is the minimum static pressure immediately downstream of the main shut-off device at peak flow.
If the water supply company specifies the minimum supply pressure downstream of the main shut-off device as pminHAE, it can be assumed that the water meter does not generate a pressure loss greater than 650 hPa when the peak flow rate occurs.

- Minimum supply pressure after the water meter (C):
The minimum supply pressure downstream of the water meter is the minimum static pressure immediately downstream of the water meter at peak flow.
If the water supply company only specifies the minimum supply pressure pminV, it must be assumed that the service pipe and the water meter dimensioned by the water supply company do not have a pressure loss greater than 200 + 650 = 850 hPa when the peak flow rate occurs (see DIN 1988-300, 5.4.4).
If the water supply company specifies the material and nominal diameter of the connection pipe and the design of the main shut-off device and the water meter, the corresponding pressure losses can also be calculated separately.
