Main shut-off device

A main shut-off device is a shut-off valve that is installed at the beginning of a distribution network to manually interrupt the flow of gas or water if necessary. In domestic water connections, the shut-off device is nowadays a shut-off valve. Main shut-off devices are needed in order to be able to carry out expansion, maintenance and repair work in the downstream networks.
