Apparatus pressure loss

Apparatus pressure loss is the generic term for larger pressure losses occurring at certain points in the flow path, e.g. in the domestic water meter (ΔpWZ), in the filter (ΔpFI), in the dosing system (Δpwz), in the softening system (ΔpEnthärtung), in the central flow-through drinking water heating system (ΔpD-TE), in the domestic water meter (ΔpWO-WZ), in the group drinking water heater (ΔpGr-TE), etc. The appliance pressure loss is generally proportional to the square of the flow rate (ΔpAP ≈ V2 ). A known operating point with a given pressure difference (Δpg) and a given flow rate (Vg) is required to calculate the appliance pressure loss. These values must be specified by the manufacturer of the respective appliance. In exceptional cases, the appliance pressure loss can also be a fixed pressure difference (e.g. a switching pressure difference).
