Separation system

In a separation system, wastewater and rainwater are drained in separate pipes.

In separation systems, there is generally no need for backflow protection at the drainage points that are below the backflow level in the building. The rainwater can be channelled directly to the receiving watercourse or infiltrated. The wastewater sewers can be smaller in the separation system and therefore hydraulically more favourable.
