Odour trap height
The odour trap height is also referred to as the sealing water height and represents the height of the water column in the odour trap that prevents the escape of wastewater and sewer gases. The loss of sealing water caused by the drainage process must not reduce the odour trap height by more than 25 mm. Compliance with the required minimum odour trap height in accordance with DIN EN 12056-2, 5.4 or DIN 1986-100, 7.2 is a prerequisite for preventing odour nuisance in buildings caused by escaping wastewater and sewer gases.
