Ventilation pipes

Ventilation pipes are used to ventilate drainage pipes/channels and ensure that pressure fluctuations in the system are reduced. Ventilation pipes do not carry waste water.

They are therefore part of a drainage system and must be made of materials in accordance with DIN 1986-4. The choice of the system to be used in individual cases or a combination of different ventilation systems depends on the type of building, the planned drainage system or, in the case of retrofit installations, also on the existing structural and constructional conditions. According to DIN 1986-100, every downpipe must be routed above the roof as a ventilation pipe, with the exception of a ventilation valve.
