Drawing-specific settings relating to your calculation are set in the Design options dialogue.

The Usage types section under Recording allows you to select and manage individual usage types.

      - Create usage type (DIN)
        With New (DIN)... you add new utilisation types in accordance with DIN 1988-300. This takes you to the New usage type dialogue.
      - Create usage type (linear)
        With New (linear)... you add new linear usage types. This takes you to the New linear usage type dialogue.
      - Delete usage type
        With Delete... you can delete the usage type you have added.
      - Edit usage type
        With Edit... you return to the respective usage type dialogue and can adjust or check your settings accordingly.
    - Calculation flow rates (drinking water design options)
      In the Calculation flow rates area under Recording, select whether the calculation flow rate from the reference values of DIN 1988-300 or from the stored manufacturer's specifications is used for the design.
    - Manufacturer catalogues (design options for drinking water)
      The links to the respective product sequence are defined by component category in the Manufacturer catalogues area under Entry. Prefixes for the labelling are also defined.
    - Stagnation (drinking water design options)
      In the Stagnation area under Validation, you can set the maximum stagnation time, among other things.
    - Flow velocities (design options for drinking water)
      The maximum permissible flow velocities per medium and section type are displayed in the Flow velocities area under Calculation.
    - Circulation (DHW design options)
      Calculation parameters for hot water and cold water circulation are specified in the Circulation area under Calculation.
    - Pressure boosting (design options for drinking water)
      In the Pressure boost ing area under Calculation, information on the average pressure drop and settings for the pressure boosting system are specified.
    - Apparatus (design options for drinking water)
      In the Apparatus section under Calculation, the maximum permissible apparatus pressure loss is specified for individual apparatus types.

      In the General area under Material, you define settings that influence the material determination.

      In the component properties area under Material, settings for determining the material for the pre-wall elements are specified.

Types of utilisation drinking water (design options drinking water)

The Usage types section under Recording allows you to select and manage individual usage types.

The selection of the utilisation types is necessary in order to determine the peak flow rate, taking into account the simultaneity of the water withdrawal.

The diagram shows the relationship between Total flow rate and Peak flow rate.
You have the following options to choose from with Manage usage types:
- Create a new utilisation type according to DIN
- Create a linear utilisation type
- Delete a usage type
- Edit a usage type
The drop-down list shows all the usage types already created for selection.
Under Simultaneity, use the slider to set the percentage of the peak flow to be taken into account for other types of utilisation.
Note:
The set value applies to all usage types except for the usage type with the highest peak flow rate. The type of utilisation with the highest peak flow rate is always taken into account at 100%.
If the Showers/bathtubs and washbasins checkboxes are activated, the taps for showers, bathtubs and washbasins are checked within the drawing for the required scalding protection in accordance with DIN EN 806-2. If there is no scalding protection, a warning message is issued for each component group. Quick functions can be used to display the components without scalding protection and to replace the existing components with components with thermostatic fittings.
Note:
If you have already calculated your drawing before changing the scald protection settings, you must recalculate the drawing.
