Pipes/insulation (design options for drinking water)

The Pipes/Insulation section under Recording allows you to customise individual definitions for each section type.

The available track section types can be customised for the media of the active unit.

  1. Select one or more route segments from the selection list. Several marking methods are available to you:
    • Make a multiple selection by holding down the left mouse button.
    • Make a multiple selection with the Ctrl key.
    • Make a multiple selection with the Shift key.
    Tip:
    Click on the respective column header to sort the individual columns in ascending or descending order.
  2. Click on the Edit selected section types button....
    The Edit selected section types dialogue opens.
  3. Make your adjustments for the selected section types in the Edit selected section types dialogue.
    • Select the pipe sequence from the drop-down menu.
    • Define the ambient temperature.
    • Use the With insulation checkbox to specify whether the sections should be insulated.
    • Define the insulation. You can choose between the insulation of a stored catalogue, insulation according to a selected set of rules or manual data entry of insulation.
  4. Select the set of rules for the insulation from the Insulation set of rules drop-down menu.
Note:
The minimum requirements for the insulation of cold and hot water pipes are contained in DIN 1988-200. These requirements are taken into account 100% in the documentation of the calculation results.

The insulation requirements of DIN 1988-200 listed in the table are automatically taken into account depending on the section type and the ambient temperature.
