Button:
Command name: CreateHorizontalElements
With CreateHorizontalElements in the Building Services window, you can create ceilings/roofs and floors in a single step.
-
Choose between the two options
-
Select Add to existing elements if you want to add new elements to existing elements during creation.
-
Select Delete existing components if all components are to be newly created and existing components are to be discarded.
-
Select the room symbols and/or the floor frames for which you want to create the floor and ceiling components.
-
Confirm the selection with the Enter key or by right-clicking.
-
Assign the correct U-value to each component in the Automatically created horizontal components dialogue.
-
To do this, open the 1 tab for the entry Floor slab, Ceiling and Floor and assign the U-values.

The created ceilings are shown with orange crosses, the floors are shown in brown (floor slab) or hatched orange. No ceilings and floors are created for rooms that extend over several storeys (e.g. stairwell) and whose room numbers have been edited accordingly.

-
You can make changes to the components at any time.
-
Right-click on the relevant component and select Edit ceiling or Edit floor or double-click on the relevant component.
The Edit component dialogue opens.
-
Select the component type from the drop-down menu with Type.
-
Select the component name and the corresponding U-value from the drop-down menu with Designation.
-
Click on OK.
Tip: No ceilings should be created on the floors where there are also roof areas (e.g. top attic). The corresponding roof shape is usually tapped here afterwards.

The newly created floor and ceiling components are displayed in the
Area table tab of the
room view.
