Options Wizard (drinking water)
The options wizard guides you through the settings for the design.
Types of utilisation (Drinking water wizard options)
It is necessary to select the utilisation types in order to determine the peak flow rate, taking into account the simultaneity of the water withdrawal.

    Drawing-specific settings relating to your calculation are set in the Design options dialogue.

    CALHYDRA has a parameterised search function that supports you when searching for drawn sections and components in the drawing and when selecting products.

    With the preview of the mass statement, CALHYDRA supports you in customising the printout of the masses.

    - Types of utilisation (Drinking water wizard options)
      It is necessary to select the utilisation types in order to determine the peak flow rate, taking into account the simultaneity of the water withdrawal.
      - Create usage type (DIN)
        With New (DIN)... you add new utilisation types in accordance with DIN 1988-300. This takes you to the New usage type dialogue.
      - Create usage type (linear)
        With New (linear)... you add new linear usage types. This takes you to the New linear usage type dialogue.
      - Delete usage type
        With Delete... you can delete the usage type you have added.
      - Edit usage type
        With Edit... you return to the respective usage type dialogue and can adjust or check your settings accordingly.
    - Minimum supply pressure (Drinking water wizard options)
      The minimum supply pressure can be defined in the options wizard using two options.
    - Calculation flow rates (Drinking water wizard options)
      In the Calculation flow rates area, select whether the calculation flow rate from the reference values of DIN 1988-300 or from the stored manufacturer specifications is used for the design.
    - Pipe definitions (Drinking water wizard options)
      The selection of pipe definitions enables the quick assignment of different pipe sequences for each section type and the definition of the pre-wall system.
    - Ambient temperatures (DHW wizard options)
      The respective ambient temperatures are of particular importance when calculating the cold water temperatures after a stagnation phase and the discharge times for overheated cold water. For this reason, the ambient temperatures must be determined on a project-specific basis depending on the installation conditions before the calculation.
    - Summary (drinking water)
      The summary of the options wizard provides an overview of all previously made settings.
  - Project data
    The Project data dialogue contains project information for the current project, for example for the project cover sheet or to determine the rainfall donations.
  - Product sequence or product selection
    In the Product sequence or Product selection dialogue, select the product sequence or a product for components.
  - Project data
    The Project data dialogue contains project information for the current project, for example for the project cover sheet or to determine the rainfall donations.
  - Simulation
    The simulation is divided into a circulation simulation for hot and cold water and a simulation of a cold water hygiene system.
  - Section properties
    In the Edit and Calculate work perspective, your selection in the drawing is highlighted in colour. Section properties and component properties can be displayed and edited differently from the global project settings.
  - Insert drawing reference
    The Insert drawing reference function guides you through the settings for inserting a drawing reference.
  - Water softening system

Types of utilisation (Drinking water wizard options)

It is necessary to select the utilisation types in order to determine the peak flow rate, taking into account the simultaneity of the water withdrawal.

The diagram shows the relationship between Total flow rate and Peak flow rate.
You have the following options to choose from with Manage usage types:
- Create a new utilisation type according to DIN
- Create a linear utilisation type
- Delete a usage type
- Edit a usage type
The drop-down list shows all usage types already created for selection.
If the Showers/bathtubs and washbasins checkboxes are activated, the taps for showers, bathtubs and washbasins are checked within the drawing for the required scalding protection in accordance with DIN EN 806-2. If there is no scalding protection, a warning message is issued for each component group. Quick functions can be used to display the components without scalding protection and to replace the existing components with components with thermostatic fittings.
Note:
If you have already calculated your drawing before changing the scald protection settings, you must recalculate the drawing.
