Pick up/edit roof/dormer geometry

Grips roofs or dormers

Button:

Command name: GripRoof

  1. Grip roofs with the DA button.
    1. Grip all corner points of the roof. The first two points must be at the same geodetic height and represent the tilt axis.
    2. End the roof area by clicking again on the first point you picked up or by clicking on the penultimate point with the right mouse button or the Enter key.
    3. Now pick a point on the opposite side of the tilt axis to determine the roof pitch using this point.
The Edit roof/dormer geometry dialogue opens.
    4. In the Edit roof/dormer geometry dialogue, enter the height of the tilt axis around which the roof/dormer is tilted, the roof pitch or the height of the point used to determine the roof pitch. You can copy the values for the tilt axis and the eaves height from the drawing using the button.
The roof areas are shown in red.

      Note:
The eaves height and pitch are determined automatically by entering the other value in each case.
  2. Use the GA button to select dormers.
    1. Select the highest points of the dormer (1, 2).

      Note:
When creating dormers, proceed in exactly the same way as when creating the roof. With dormer cheeks, you usually only have three points to pick up. The "Using three points" tab is displayed in the dialogue. All known heights are already entered. For some input fields, you can copy heights from the drawing. The greatest height from the roofs is determined.
      Note:
You always create primary roofs/dormers. Primary roofs are used to enter the roof geometry and are therefore not displayed in the heating load calculation.
    2. Take the lowest points of the dormer (3, 4).
    3. Close the dormer area at the first tapped point (1) or confirm with the Enter key.
    4. Specify the roof pitch by clicking on a point to which the roof slopes (5).
    5. The Edit roof/dormer geometry dialogue opens.
    6. In the Edit roof/dormer geometry dialogue, enter the height of the tilt axis around which the roof/dormer is tilted, the roof pitch or the height of the point for determining the roof pitch. You can copy the values for the tilt axis and the eaves height from the drawing using the button.
      Note:
The eaves height and pitch are determined automatically by entering the other value in each case.
The dormer is shown in orange in the drawing.

    7. Click on OK.
    8. The command is still active, select three points on the dormer cheek (1 , 2 , 3) and close the surface at the first point or with the Enter key.

    9. The editing dialogue opens. The heights of the three picked points and the inclination are listed here. The order of the points corresponds to the order in which they were tapped. Check the values and click OK.
    10. The command is still active, grab three points of the second dormer cheek (1, 2, 3) and close the surface at the first point or with the Enter key.
    11. The editing dialogue opens. Check the values and click OK.
    12. Exit the command with ESC or the right mouse button.
