Simulation (Design Options for Drinking Water)
The Simulation section under General displays the simulation settings.
The Simulation section is divided into two parts.
- The default setting ‘Circulation PWH’ indicates that a hot water circulation simulation is being carried out. Note:The ‘PWH circulation ’ tick box cannot be deselected and is always active.
- The deselected ‘PWH circulation during thermal disinfection’ tick box indicates that no hot water circulation is simulated during thermal disinfection. Note:If the ‘PWH circulation during thermal disinfection ’ tick box is ticked, a simulation of hot water circulation during thermal disinfection is also carried out.
Thermal disinfection is carried out at a storage tank temperature of 75 °C. The pump is switched to its highest output. If necessary, the storage tank temperature is increased in stages until at least 70 °C is reached throughout the system. During the simulation of thermal disinfection in accordance with DVGW Worksheet W 551, an output is displayed in the Log window, which lists the section with the lowest temperature, the lowest temperature in the pipework network and the maximum flow velocity in the pipework network. The parameters used to achieve the disinfection temperature are displayed at the end of the log.
- The ‘PWC Circulation ’ default setting indicates that a simulation of cold water circulation is being carried out. Note:The ‘PWC Circulation ’ tick box cannot be deselected and is always active.
- The ‘Flushing’ preset indicates that a water withdrawal simulation is being carried out. Note:The ‘Flushing technique ’ tick box cannot be deselected and is always active.
- The deselected ‘Commissioning DIN EN 806-4’ tick box indicates that the commissioning simulation is being carried out in accordance with DIN EN 806-4. Note:If the ‘Commissioning DIN EN 806-4’ tick box is ticked, the simulation of commissioning is carried out in accordance with DIN EN 806-4.Attention:The ‘Commissioning DIN EN 806-4’ strategy can be very computationally intensive and is only recommended when the extraction points are room-referencedvia the room-based drawing.
