Insert drawing reference
The Insert drawing reference function guides you through the settings for inserting a drawing reference.
Binding
Use the binding setting to define whether the drawings are to be inserted as a reference (XRef) or as a block.

Binding

Use the binding setting to define whether the drawings are to be inserted as a reference (XRef) or as a block.

Activate the Insert as reference radio button if the drawings are to be inserted as a reference (XRef).

Note:
The advantage of inserting architectural plans as a reference (XRef file) is that drawing changes are automatically updated in the drawing. Give the new drawing file the same file name as the original file and save it in the same folder.

Important:
You cannot edit XRef files in the drawing that contains the reference. You must open the referenced drawing separately for editing.
Activate the Insert as block radio button if drawings are to be inserted as a block.
Click on the Back button to revise the settings you made previously.
Click on the Next button to go to the next step of the settings.
