Drinking water installation

According to DIN EN 806-1, the drinking water installation begins downstream of the main shut-off device (MPS). It includes all pipes, appliances, fittings and safety devices within a building that are wetted by drinking water.

The drinking water installation ends at the taps, usually at free outlets.

If the drinking water flows through appliances in which the requirements of the Drinking Water Ordinance are not met, the drinking water installation ends at the associated safety device.
